The “Lee-thal” Weapon

Who is Paul Dalistan?
Over a week ago, you and I don’t know the guy. But after the FIBA-Asia Champions Cup in Wuhan, China, the name will forever be legend.
With no time remaining and Gilas Pilipinas trailing by two, this guy went for broke and threw a desperation, potential game-winning three. He didn’t make the shot but he was fouled for three free throws. Like a cold-blooded assasin, he calmly sank all three free throws. Boom. And Gilas brought down The Great Wall as it escapes with a mammoth 80-79 victory over powerhouse China to clinch the bronze medal.

And then pandemonium.
This whole basketball-crazed nation whopped it up in celebration. Amid the trail of devastation that Typhoon Glenda wrought. Forget about the widespread brownout. Forget about the roof-less houses of so many. For a few fleeting moment, this guy and Gilas gave us something to be happy about.
So thank you Gilas Pilipinas.
Thank you Paul Dalistan.
Now who’s Paul Dalistan again?

It means Ice on veins.

Or call him Paul Lee.

The “Lee-thal” Weapon.

New owner of the West Philippine Sea.

The Phl’s David to China’s Goliath.

Hero if you ask me.
